Arlington Sports Conditioning - Pete Leibman

Faster. Stronger. Fitter.

ASC Athlete Profile: Rob Salerno

Birthday: January 7

Hometown: Twin Rivers, East Windsor, New Jersey

What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

“I played college & HS Ice Hockey, HS Baseball, HS Soccer, Wrestling, Inline Roller Hockey. Also played rec basketball and softball.”

When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?

“I’m thinking it was Spring 2018. I was a regular at the W-L Track and would see the group working out there. Then one Monday night, I recognized Pete (from the track) in Gold’s Gym leading the same group. The rest is history.”

What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?

“Scoring four goals in the County Ice Hockey Championship as a HS Senior. Dedicated all four to my Dad. He made it all possible. A close second is running my first half marathon at the age of 50, and running three since then.”

What is your favorite exercise(s)?

“Pushups, relay runs, bleachers, and alligator walks with sliders.”

What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?

“Music is such a big part of the workout. I enjoy all of the different playlists and listening to tunes I might not hear otherwise. I’m a rocker at heart. My “go to” band is Clutch (from Baltimore).”

What is your favorite sports team?

“I’m a die-hard New York sports fan: Yankees, Rangers, Giants, and Knicks.”

Who is your favorite athlete?

“Currently it’s Adam Fox of the NY Rangers.”

Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?

“Spending time with family and friends. Watching my favorite sports teams. Going to a good party! Eating! Sleeping!”

What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning? What are the biggest benefits you have experienced?

“It all starts with Pete. The community that he has started and maintained continues to thrive because of his commitment and dedication to the people involved. He provides well-thought out workouts in a friendly and warm environment. On Saturdays, we introduce ourselves prior to the workout so that you have a chance to put names to faces. That’s a great touch. ASC has made me faster, stronger and fitter, all of which have improved, and continue to improve, my life. And the friends I’ve made.. wow, just awesome.”

What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?

“Get involved, work hard, have fun and always remember why you started. Joining ASC was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It can be for you too.”
