What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

I played in my neighborhood’s youth basketball league during elementary years. Then, I played soccer for my high school team during grades 9th-12th.

When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?

My first ASC workout was on June 22, 2024 (ASC Fast workout). I learned about the group through a promotional email that was sent to my apartment building. I liked the fact that it was outdoors. I’m glad I clicked yes to the special offer class!

What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?

My proudest athletic accomplishment would be finishing my first ever 10-miler, The Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run in April 2019. Crossing the finish line was amazing during peak bloom. Being able to finish it motivated me to continue running and improved my health. Then, I completed the ARMY 10-miller in November 2019, and the Rock’n’Roll half marathons in DC (2023) and Nashville (2024).

What is your favorite exercise(s)?

I like anything core, but I’m starting to like weights and relays thanks to ASC. I also enjoy the battle ropes used during the ASC summer workouts.

What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?

I listen to pretty much everything, Bad Bunny, Latin music, pop, rock, anything that has a good beat.

What is your favorite sports team?

After moving to the DC area, I like going to the local Nats, Caps, DC United, and Wizards games. It’s pretty cool to have major professional sports franchises so close in the city. I also enjoy watching La Liga (Spanish soccer) and was able to attend a game while traveling in Spain. When I’m home, I always root for my hometown’s basketball team, Capitanes de Arecibo.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Roberto Clemente.

Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?

Thanks to the ASC friends, I have been discovering and supporting local restaurants with them. I enjoy going to concerts and movies. I also love to travel; 37 countries and counting.

What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?

I like the fact that ASC continues to help me improve my physical and overall well-being. The ASC workouts have become a good foundation to keep a healthy work-life balance. Pete always has new exercises that make each class challenging and never the same. Also, the community that comes with ASC is truly amazing. Everyone supports each other. Great social events too!
