What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?
I grew up playing all kinds of sports, but water polo was my main one (along with volleyball and softball in high school). I played club water polo throughout college, and these days I play tennis.
When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?
My first ASC workout was in April 2025. ASC was offering an ASC Fast workout for people in my building and I went! I immediately loved it and knew this was the right community for me.
What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?
Despite a lifetime of playing sports, I have very few championship trophies (huge runner-up energy). So winning my adult club tennis league in 2023 was a big deal for me.
What is your favorite exercise(s)?
Backwards bear crawls. It’s niche, but a great full-body workout. I regularly find myself using them as a warmup.
What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?
Wait For It from Hamilton or anything Kygo
What is your favorite sports team?
USC football
Who is your favorite athlete?
Jannik Sinner or Jessica Pegula
Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?
My favorite hobbies are tennis and biking, which I guess constitute as working out. Outside of that, I love musicals and game nights with friends and family.
What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?
Probably too cliché to say everything. I love that it forces me to work on my running and sprinting. I’m not a huge runner, so the ASC Fast workouts are my favorite (and least favorite).
What are the biggest benefits of being a member?
The camaraderie and access to Pete. It’s incredibly motivating to show up at 6:30 am and accomplish something together. Pete is a pro, and learning from him makes every session better.
What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?
Come even if you’re nervous about not being the best. I’m neither the fastest nor strongest, but every workout feels like it’s me vs myself. The workouts are scaled to all speeds and strength, so you’ll never feel like you’re holding anyone back.
