Arlington Sports Conditioning - Pete Leibman

Faster. Stronger. Fitter.

ASC Athlete Profile: Lisa Gewirtz

Name: Lisa Gewirtz

Birthday: September 8th

Hometown: Richmond, VA

What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

I have always enjoyed some healthy competition and grew up playing recreational soccer. I also dabbled in tetherball and kickball on the playground… if that counts.

When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?

I started attending Pete’s Monday night Sports Conditioning class at Gold’s Gym back in 2016 and tried out the Saturday track workout shortly after.

What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?

Long distance running has never been my thing, but I was proud of myself for completing a rainy half marathon alongside a group of friends back in 2019. I also decided that was the first and last half marathon for me.

What is your favorite exercise(s)?

Always in for a round or two of bleachers!

What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?

Any Kygo song

What is your favorite sports team?

I don’t follow any sports teams consistently, but I love cheering on the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team whenever I get the chance.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Pete, of course.

Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?

Cooking, playing soccer, hiking, traveling internationally, biking, painting, hosting dinner parties, and exploring the DMV.

What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?

The ASC group motivates me to keep coming back each week. Everybody is supportive, yet competitive, and that mentality pushes me to sprint faster and get the best possible workout. Pete has also taught me that fancy equipment isn’t required to create a challenging outdoor workout no matter the space or weather.”

What are the biggest benefits that you have experienced as a member?

I have made lifelong friends through ASC. I feel fortunate that each week I look forward to the strength and cardio workouts with some pretty great people.

What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?

Friendly reminder to pack those shin guards for box jumps on the cement steps at W-L stadium. I warned ya.
