ASC Athlete Profile: Josiah Gruber

Name: Josiah Gruber

Birthday: November 26

Hometown: Newbury, VT

What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

“I grew up skiing a lot during the winter and playing basketball and baseball. When I got to college, I also started playing some soccer, golf, and volleyball. Now, I play soccer 3-4 times a week year-round, sand or grass volleyball when it’s nice out, and continue to golf and ski as much as possible.”

When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?

“My ASC attendance started in 2015 with Pete’s class on Monday nights at Ballston Gold’s Gym. Erin Moore (another ASC member) invited me after she discovered it. I also went to the Friday evening classes led by Karl (another Gold’s Gym coach). I’m glad we don’t have to use that broken Gold’s Gym audio system anymore!”

What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?

“Every time my soccer team wins our league! We are currently on a streak of 3 seasons in a row.”

“Getting Juniper (our dog) lots of exercise, baking/cooking, and hanging out with friends.”

What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning? What are the biggest benefits that you have experienced as a member?

What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?

“Show up consistently and challenge yourself during the workout.”
