What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?
“I played lots of sports growing up! Soccer, softball, basketball, tennis, lacrosse, and figure skating to name a few. I was on my high school’s varsity basketball and lacrosse teams and also played club basketball in the offseason. I got recruited for basketball, played on my college team, and was a captain my senior year.”
When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?
“I attended my first ASC workout in the spring of 2024. I learned about the group through a promotion sent to residents in my apartment building which I later found out that I have fellow ASC’er and neighbor, Hillary Dang, to thank for!”
What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?
“We beat the #10 ranked team in the country on our senior day in college. I loved playing knowing that my family was there to cheer in the stands and that lots of alumni fans were back on campus for us. Watching the film back, the game was a pretty close one. But in the moment, I knew the other team never had a chance of winning. It was an electric day!
More personally would be my high school basketball career. I never made the top travel teams before high school, but I kept playing at whatever level I could and attended lots of camps over the summers. Playing on the varsity team and eventually being named MVP my senior year was a huge testament to the work I put in over the years, my parents’ support, and coaches for believing in me. Middle school me never could have imagined I would end up getting recruited to play in college!”
What is your favorite exercise(s)?
“Relays and obstacle courses!”
What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?
“I normally like working out to Kygo songs, but my all time favorite band is Zac Brown Band.”
What is your favorite sports team?
“Any Boston team; the Celtics are in my top spot right now for obvious reasons.”
Who is your favorite athlete?
“Al Horford – gotta represent the post players!”
Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?
“I love spending time and traveling with my family, going for walks to explore blooming gardens around town, and trying new restaurants!”
What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?
“I love the community and camaraderie that everyone brings each day.”
What are the biggest benefits of being a member?
“There are so many! If I had to choose two: meeting all the other members and getting great workouts in throughout the week that are expertly put together and led by Pete.”
What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?
“Give it a go! Everyone at ASC wants you to do your best and will cheer you on. One of my basketball coaches used to say “don’t be afraid to be good.” Even though it’s a silly saying (who wouldn’t want to be good?!), the quote reminds us to take risks and try new things because you might surprise yourself with your success!”
