Arlington Sports Conditioning - Pete Leibman

Faster. Stronger. Fitter.

The Best Sunday Workout

Do you ever do tough workouts on Sundays?

I used to do tough workouts on Sundays all the time. In fact, I used to lead a Sports Conditioning workout on Sunday mornings back in the day.

However, I stopped doing tough workouts on Sundays years ago.

These days, my Sunday “workout” consists of 30-60 minutes of mobility work (using a massage gun, lacrosse ball, PVC pipe, and other mobility tools) and deep stretching.

I also like to go for leisurely walks outside on Sundays.

Other than an occasional special event, I rarely lift weights, run, or do anything physically demanding on Sundays.

If you are like me and you train hard during the week, it’s important to take at least one recovery day each week.

Sunday makes for a great recovery day, although you could certainly choose another day each week instead.

When you give your body and mind a break on Sundays, you show up stronger on Monday. You also reduce your chances of over-training.
