ASC Athlete Profile: Ashley Willingham

Name: Ashley Willingham

Birthday: January 13

Hometown: Seal Beach, California

What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

I played a variety of sports growing up but primarily focused on soccer and dance (ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop). In high school, I continued dancing but switched over from soccer to track and field and found a passion in sprinting. I was then recruited to run track in college at Princeton. My main event was the 400m, but I enjoyed all the sprints, especially the relays!

When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?

My first workout with ASC was in August 2024, and I heard about it through the Ballston Runaways, a local run club.

What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?

I was awarded the top female athlete out of all sports out of all schools within my league in high school. It meant a lot to me since it felt like a testament to all the hours and dedication I put into track!

What is your favorite exercise(s)?

Sprint relays

What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?

I typically don’t listen to music when I workout on my own, but my favorite artist is Ed Sheeran.

What is your favorite sports team?

Team USA – I love watching the Olympics!

Who is your favorite athlete?

Allyson Felix

Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?

I love doing anything active, especially dancing with my dance group or trying out a new hike. I also enjoy reading books, volunteering with my church, and spending time with family and friends.

What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?

I love how the workouts continue to challenge me and push me more than I could on my own while maintaining a positive and motivating environment. I also love how ASC gets me outdoors during the week and has variety in both speed and strength exercises to help me be a better all around athlete!

What are the biggest benefits of being a member?

Having a community that motivates and pushes me in my workouts has been so beneficial, especially having always trained with a team prior! The ASC community is so encouraging, and everyone wants you to become your best!

What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?

Don’t be nervous for your first workout because everyone is very welcoming! The workouts are also adaptable to all levels, so you can make sure you get the best workout for you!
