Arlington Sports Conditioning - Pete Leibman

Faster. Stronger. Fitter.

ASC Athlete Profile: Andrew Naybor

Name: Andrew Naybor

Birthday: January 18

Hometown: Fairfax, VA

What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

“I played/did pretty much everything growing up – soccer, baseball, basketball, swimming, golf, tennis, skiing, skateboarding – but was probably most serious about lacrosse, which I played both youth and in high school.”

How did you first learn about ASC?

“I learned about ASC from my wife, Mirian, and from [ASC member] Fernanda Sobral. Big ups to both of them!”

What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?

“This is a tough one. I feel like my life has been peppered with small and various athletic wins, like running short races and scoring a goal here and there… but nothing singular and epic. I guess I’d like to use ASC as a way to train for something that could answer this question better.”

What is your favorite exercise(s)?

“Bleachers, Indian runs, trail runs”

What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?

“Linkin Park and drum & bass music”

What is your favorite sports team?

“Let’s go Caps!”

Who is your favorite athlete?

“TJ Oshie. He’s an American and DC area hero!”

Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?

“Traveling, video games, skiing out west in the winter, and sampling craft beer all year long.”

What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning? What are the biggest benefits that you have experienced as a member?

“The set workout routine and the camaraderie. I was mostly working out at home for the last several years, and would go in and out of periods of exercising and staying in shape. Feeling a sense of accountability to the ASC program, the schedule, and a desire to succeed as part of a group has given me motivation and drive that I haven’t experienced since I played team sports when I was younger. And I’ve been more consistent and successful with my workouts than I have been in a long time.”

What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?

“Nothing that hasn’t already been said by others before me, and more affirmation that anyone considering it should give it a shot. Pete and the group have been nothing but welcoming to newer folks like myself, and there are ways for people of all fitness levels to participate and improve.”
