What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?
When I was a kid I played baseball and soccer, and in middle school I did cross country and track and field. I didn’t continue playing sports in high school, but after college I got back into running. Since then I’ve run a few half marathons and I’ll be training for a full marathon next year!
When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?
I learned about ASC earlier this year when I was attending free yoga classes at GMU on Wednesdays. There was a week where ASC did a couple of workouts at GMU, and I’ve been doing ASC ever since!
What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?
The Baltimore half marathon. The elevation gain made it a really tough course, but I was still able to beat my previous PR by a few minutes!
What is your favorite exercise(s)?
200m sprints and the battle ropes (which I used to hate but now enjoy?)
What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?
Rock Lobster by the B-52s
What is your favorite sports team?
Philadelphia Flyers
Who is your favorite athlete?
Fiona O’Keefe – she was having stomach issues during the 2025 NYC Marathon and she was an absolute beast and kept going anyways
Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?
I spend most of my free time training for my next race, but I also enjoy biking and golf!
What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?
I really enjoy that the workouts change every week. I think it’s a great variety and I’m never bored.
What are the biggest benefits of being a member?
I really enjoy the group of people that attend ASC – I have been to plenty of other workout classes (Soul Cycle, Yoga, etc.) and have yet to find the sense of community ASC has.
What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?
Just show up!
