What is your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?
I grew up dancing (ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap) and continued with that through college. A little over two years ago I picked up running.
When did you attend your first workout with Arlington Sports Conditioning, and how did you first learn about the group?
My first workout with ASC was in May 2025. I found out about it through GMU where I had been taking a free weekly yoga class.
What is your proudest athletic accomplishment, and why?
Completing the Richmond half marathon last year. I ran it faster than I thought I could and had a great time!
What is your favorite exercise(s)?
Any lower body exercises, particularly deadlifts. I have a love/hate relationship with sprints.
What is your favorite workout song or musical artist?
I change up my workout playlist frequently, but lately some of my favorites have included 12 to 12 by sombr and Breakin’ Dishes by Rihanna.
What is your favorite sports team?
I don’t really watch sports, but my grandfather was a huge Yankees fan, so probably them.
Who is your favorite athlete?
Nikki Hiltz or Simone Biles
Other than working out, how else do you like to spend your free time?
Traveling, cooking, hiking, volunteering, and hanging out with friends and my cats!
What do you like best about Arlington Sports Conditioning?
I love the variety of exercises we do – you’ll never be bored and will work out muscles you didn’t know you had.
What are the biggest benefits of being a member?
ASC has motivated me to consistently show up for class (and myself) and to try new things! I really have gotten stronger and faster – I’ve managed to shave a couple of minutes off my mile time since starting!
What advice would you offer to new or prospective members of Arlington Sports Conditioning?
Just show up! The positive environment Pete and all the members create will encourage you to become a better and stronger version of yourself.
